Emily James was awarded Best Solo Performance in Spring Sing 2018. Emily says, “Being a part of Spring Sing has easily been one of my favorite parts of my UCLA experience. Some of my dearest friendships have formed as a result of it, and the exhilaration of performing a song I wrote in my bedroom for thousands of people in Pauley Pavilion is something I will remember and cherish for the rest of my life.”

In her time since Spring Sing, Emily has independently released a number of projects, the most recent being her EP, "Wanted You to Know, Pt. I," which came out in February 2021. She will be graduating this Spring and is excited to continue on her musical journey of songwriting, producing, and performing live (when safe again). She says, “These past four years at UCLA have allowed me to grow as an artist (and human being in general) in ways I never could have imagined. I am so grateful for the experience.”
